There are five different places we can store macros or code within a workbook or project. In this video, we will only cover the first three, which are the sheet module, the this workbook module, and the code module. Let's start with the code module because that's the one we're probably most familiar with. Here, I have an example workbook called "VBA Code Modules" open in the VBA editor. In the project window, you can see all the folders where different code modules are located. We are used to seeing the modules folder, and within that, we have module 1. If I double-click that module, the code window will open on the right side, and we can see the macros stored within this code module. Code modules contain macros that will run when a user presses a button, either in the ribbon or in the worksheet. They can also be run from the macros window. Additionally, code modules can contain user-defined functions or UDFs. It's a very common place to store macros that will be run when the user takes an action, such as pressing a button. In Excel, I have an example here. I've created a shape assigned to that macro. When I click it, the macro will run, and we will see a list of sheets. This is the result of the macro.
